태안군이 지역 발전과 현안 해결을 위해 주요 공모사업 추진과 정부예산 확보에 총력을 기울이고 있다. 

가세로 군수를 비롯한 군 관계자들은 지난 21일 정부세종청사 내 보건복지부와 해양수산부를 방문해 △공설 영묘전 주변 공원화 사업 △태안 바다숲 조성 사업 △주꾸미 산란·서식장 조성 사업 △가로림만·학암포 갯벌 복원 사업 등 핵심 사업에 대한 정부 차원의 관심과 지원을 요청했다.

이번 방문은 태안군의 미래 성장 동력을 확보하고 지역 현안 해결을 위해 정부와의 긴밀한 협력과 예산 확보가 필수라는 판단에서 이뤄졌다. 군은 이를 위해 공모사업 선정 경쟁력을 높이고 국비 확보에 적극 대응한다는 방침이다.

공설 영묘전 주변 공원화 사업은 변화하는 장례 문화와 공동묘지 정비 수요에 맞춰 추진된다. 태안군은 2019년부터 25개소 중 4개소 정비를 완료했고, 현재 3개소 추가 정비를 진행 중이다. 정비 후 67ha의 유휴부지는 체육시설 등 주민 편의 공간으로 활용할 계획이다.

가로림만과 학암포항 갯벌복원 사업은 생물다양성 보존과 환경 가치 회복을 목적으로 2026년부터 4년간 각각 70억 원씩 투입된다. 군은 성공적인 사업 추진을 위해 국비 확보에 집중하며 전략 마련에 나서고 있다.

군 관계자는 “지역 발전을 위해서는 정부의 적극적인 지원이 절실하다”며 “앞으로도 국회와 정부 부처를 수시로 방문해 사업의 필요성과 타당성을 알리고 국비 확보에 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
