국민의힘 최민호 세종시장 예비후보가 선거사무소의 문을 활짝 열고 재선을 향한 본격적인 세몰이에 나섰다. 

최 예비후보는 19일 한누리대로에 위치한 자신의 선거사무소에서 ‘아리아리 캠프’ 개소식을 개최했다. 

아울러 시민 중심의 정치와 ‘행정수도 세종’의 완벽한 실현을 향한 굳은 의지를 천명했다.

이날 개소식 현장에는 이준배 시당위원장, 정우진 세종갑 당협위원장을 비롯해 김충식 시의원 예비후보 등 6·3 전국동시지방선거 출마자들과 당원, 청년, 문화예술계 인사 등 700여 명의 인파가 운집했다. 

본격적인 행사에 앞서 상영된 ‘걸어서 시민 속으로 100km’ 기록 영상은 장내의 분위기를 한껏 끌어올렸다. 

최 예비후보가 최근 단식 투쟁에 이어 금남면에서 소정면까지 7일간 세종시 전역을 두 발로 걸으며 바닥 민심을 청취했던 험난한 여정에 잔잔한 탄성과 응원의 박수가 터져 나왔다.

단상에 오른 최 예비후보는 확고한 원칙과 정치 철학을 밝히며 지지자들의 환호에 화답했다. 

그는 우리 아이들에게 자라서 ‘무엇이 될 것인가’를 묻기보다 ‘무엇을 할 것인가’를 묻는 사회를 만들고 싶다며, 좋은 게 좋은 것이 아니라, 옳은 것이 진정 좋은 것이라는 흔들림 없는 소신을 지켜나가겠다고 힘주어 말했다.

특히 최 예비후보는 지난 시정 1기에 대한 냉철한 소회와 함께 2기를 향한 선명한 청사진을 제시했다. 

그는 지난 4년간 시민의 이익을 최우선으로 한 사업의 상당수를 완수했지만, 국제정원도시박람회를 비롯한 일부 숙원 사업이 뜻을 이루지 못한 점은 아쉽다고 토로했다. 

그러면서 최민호의 시정 2기가 시작된다면, 이러한 아쉬움에 마침표를 찍고 행정수도 완성 등 시민의 열망을 담은 지역 숙원 사업들을 뚝심 있게 일궈내겠다고 약속했다.

나아가 세종시의 미래 비전인 ‘2030년 도약론’을 강하게 역설하며 지지를 호소했다.
