계룡시는 주요 핵심 사업의 차질 없는 추진과 시민 체감형 안전 행정을 구현하기 위해 사업 현장을 직접 살피는 ‘현장 중심 안전소통’ 3단계를 본격 추진했다고 17일 밝혔다.

이번 점검은 지난 3월 해빙기 안전 시설물 점검과 4월 초 산불 취약지 점검에 이은 세 번째 행보로, 시정의 핵심 동력인 주요 사업들의 진행 상황을 현장에서 직접 확인하고 발생 가능한 문제점을 선제적으로 해결하기 위해 마련됐다.

시는 16일부터 17일까지 이틀간 이응우 시장을 비롯한 관련 부서장들이 참여한 가운데, 시민 생활과 밀착된 기반 시설 및 환경 시설 등 총 7개 사업장을 순차적으로 방문해 집중 점검을 벌였다.

16일 진행된 첫날 점검에서는 주거 환경 개선과 교통 인프라 확충 현장을 두루 살폈다. 

이 시장은 광석 소규모 하수처리시설 예정지, 엄사지구 수돗물 정밀 여과장치 설치 현장, 엄사면 공영주차타워 예정지, 두마-연산 국도대체 우회도로 공사 현장, 계룡역 환승센터 예정지 등을 차례로 방문했다.

현장에서 점검단은 공사 중 주민 불편 사항과 공정 관리 상태를 집중적으로 확인했다. 

공영주차타워와 환승센터 등 시민 일상과 직결된 시설에 대해서는 안전 실태를 꼼꼼히 점검하고, 예정된 공기 내에 안전하게 공사가 마무리될 수 있도록 부서 간 긴밀한 협력을 주문했다.

17일 둘째 날 점검은 도시의 지속 가능성을 담보하는 환경 기초시설에 초점이 맞춰졌다. 

점검단은 '생활자원 회수센터', '대체 소각시설 예정지'를 찾아 시설 확충 계획과 운영 현황을 정밀하게 살폈다.

특히 생활자원 회수센터에서는 재활용 자원의 효율적인 선별 시스템을 확인하는 한편, 현장 작업자들의 안전수칙 준수 여부와 화재 예방 등 안전관리 실태를 점검했다. 

이어 대체 소각시설 예정지에서는 향후 생활폐기물 배출량 증가에 대비한 안정적인 처리 기반 조성 방안을 논의하며 현장 중심의 행정력을 집중했다.

계룡시의 이러한 발로 뛰는 행정은 실제 수치로도 입증되고 있다. 

최근 한국매니페스토실천본부가 발표한 ‘2026년 전국 기초단체장 공약이행 및 정보공개 평가’에서 시는 공약사업 추진율 92%를 기록했다.

전체 공약 이행 완료율 역시 77%로 전국 평균(70.42%)을 크게 상회하며, 2023년부터 4년 연속 최우수(SA) 등급을 획득하는 성과를 거뒀다.
