대한민국의 미래 기술을 선도하는 과학기술정보통신부(이하 과기정통부)가 따뜻한 나눔 문화 확산에도 앞장서며 지역 사회의 귀감이 되고 있다.

세종사회복지공동모금회(이하 세종모금회)는 17일 오전 세종시 어진동 과기정통부 청사에서 ‘희망2026나눔캠페인 이웃사랑 실천 우수기관 감사패 전달식’을 개최했다. 

이날 행사에는 최문기 과기정통부 운영지원과장과 이희정 세종모금회 사무처장 등 주요 관계자들이 참석해 그간의 나눔 성과를 공유했다.

배경훈 부총리 겸 장관이 이끄는 과기정통부는 지난 2014년부터 연말연시 이웃돕기 성금 모금에 꾸준히 참여해왔다. 

특히 2019년 세종특별자치시 이전 이후 나눔의 규모를 더욱 확대했다. 희망2024나눔캠페인 당시 3,500여만 원을 기탁한 데 이어, 이번 희망2026나눔캠페인에는 6,000여만 원을 전달하며 세종 지역 소외계층을 위한 든든한 버팀목 역할을 했다. 

2018년부터 현재까지 누적 기탁액만 총 2억 7,500여만 원에 달한다.

이번 성과는 본부뿐만 아니라 우정사업본부, 국립과천과학관, 국립중앙과학관, 중앙전파관리소, 국립전파연구원 등 산하기관 임직원들이 십시일반 마음을 모았다는 점에서 의미를 더했다.

최문기 운영지원과장은 세종시의 어려운 이웃을 위해 직원들이 한마음으로 뜻을 모았을 뿐인데 귀한 감사패를 받게 되어 영광이라며, 함께 힘을 보태준 본부 및 산하기관 직원들에게 모든 공을 돌린다고 소감을 밝혔다.

이희정 세종모금회 사무처장은 대한민국의 과학기술 발전만큼이나 따뜻하고 행복한 사회를 만드는 데 앞으로도 큰 힘이 되어달라고 화답했다.

한편, 지난 1월 31일 종료된 ‘희망2026나눔캠페인’은 세종시 목표액인 20억 4,000만 원을 훌쩍 넘긴 23억 6,000만 원을 기록하며 사랑의 온도 115.2도를 달성, 성공적으로 마무리됐다.

The Ministry of Science and ICT (hereinafter MSIT), which leads Korea’s future technology, is setting an example for local communities by taking the lead in spreading a warm culture of sharing.

On the morning of the 17th, the Sejong Community Chest of Korea (hereinafter Sejong Community Chest) held a ‘Ceremony for Presenting Plaques of Appreciation to Outstanding Institutions for Practicing Neighborly Love in the Hope 2026 Sharing Campaign’ at the MSIT building in Eojin-dong, Sejong City.

Key officials, including Choi Mun-gi, Head of the Operations Support Division at MSIT, and Lee Hee-jeong, Secretary General of the Sejong Community Chest, attended the event to share the achievements of their sharing efforts to date.

The MSIT, led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Bae Gyeong-hun, has consistently participated in year-end and New Year fundraising for neighbors since 2014. In particular, the scale of charitable giving has been further expanded since the relocation to Sejong Special Self-Governing City in 2019. Following the donation of approximately 35 million won during the Hope 2024 Sharing Campaign, over 60 million won was delivered during the recent Hope 2026 Sharing Campaign, serving as a reliable pillar of support for the underprivileged in the Sejong region.

The cumulative total donation from 2018 to the present amounts to approximately 275 million won.

This achievement holds added significance as it involved the collective efforts of employees from not only the headquarters but also affiliated organizations such as the Korea Post, the National Science Museum in Gwacheon, the National Science Museum, the Central Radio Management Office, and the National Radio Research Institute.

Choi Mun-gi, Head of the Operations Support Division, expressed his sentiments, stating that it was an honor to receive this precious plaque of appreciation, noting that employees had simply come together with one heart for the needy neighbors of Sejong City. He attributed all the credit to the employees of the headquarters and affiliated organizations who contributed their efforts. Lee Hee-jung, Secretary General of the Sejong Fundraising Association, responded by asking for continued support in creating a warm and happy society, just as much as the development of science and technology in Korea.

Meanwhile, the ‘Hope 2026 Sharing Campaign,’ which ended on January 31, concluded successfully by raising 2.36 billion won—far exceeding Sejong City’s target of 2.04 billion won—and achieving a ‘Temperature of Love’ of 115.2 degrees.
