충남 서산시가 최근 전국적으로 확산하는 공무원 사칭 사기에 대해 시민들의 각별한 주의를 당부했다.

이러한 사기 수법은 실제 공무원 이름을 도용한 위조 명함이나 가짜 공문서를 먼저 제시하며 물품 납품을 요구하거나, 개인 휴대전화로 연락을 유도하는 방식으로 이루어지고 있다. 급한 사정을 내세워 업체에 물품 대리 구매를 요청하는 사례도 빈번하다. 또한, 위조된 명함으로 물품을 대량 주문한 뒤 나타나지 않는 '노쇼'나 있지도 않은 폐기물 수거를 요청하는 등 다양한 수법으로 피해가 발생하고 있다. 

현재 서산시에는 물품 구매 확인이나 사칭 공무원의 실존 여부를 묻는 전화 문의가 쇄도하고 있다. 이에 시는 지난 14일 경찰에 수사를 의뢰했으며, 사회관계망서비스(SNS)와 전광판 등을 통해 출처 불분명한 전화나 공문서를 받을 경우 서산시 누리집 공식 연락처로 반드시 사실을 확인할 것을 적극 알릴 계획이다.

시 관계자는 "대리 구매를 요청하거나 개인 휴대전화로 연락을 유도하고, 공문서를 먼저 제시하며 물품 납품을 요구하는 등 의심스러운 상황이 발생하면 반드시 관계 부서에 확인해달라"고 강조했다.
