한글문화도시 조성을 위한 업무협약이 7일 있었다.

세종시와 세종대왕기념사업회는 이날  시청 한글사랑 책문화센터에서 세종대왕 위업 선양을 위한 업무협약식을 갖고  공동노력에 나섰다.

협약에 따라 양기관은 세종대왕 나신 날 및 한글날 기념행사 개최 ,한글의 세계화 및 한글문화도시 조성 사업 협력 ,세종대왕 정신을 기반으로 한 문화운동 추진 등을 공동으로 추진하게 된다.

두 기관은 협약의 첫걸음으로  국가기념일로 지정된 ‘세종대왕 나신 날’을 기념하는 행사를 공동으로 개최할 예정이다.

협약식에서는 세종대왕기념사업회가 한글문화도시 세종시의 정체성에 부합하는 훈민정음 해례본·언해본 병풍을 기증해 의미를 더했다. 

시가 기증받은 병풍은 한지·각자장·배첩장 무형문화재 장인들이 합심해 만든 작품이다.

최민호 시장은 “세종대왕기념사업회와의 긴밀한 협력을 통해 한글문화도시로서의 위상을 더욱 높여나가겠다”며 “이번 세종대왕 나신 날 행사를 세종대왕기념사업회와 공동으로 개최하게 되어 특히 감회가 새롭다”고 말했다.

최홍식 세종대왕기념사업회장은 “세종시에 여러 번 왔는데 올 때마다 세종대왕의 정신이 살아있고 한글문화도시로서 품격을 갖추고 있는 도시 발전상에 큰 감동을 받고있다”며 “시와 공동 개최하는 세종대왕 나신 날 행사의 성공개최를 위해 최선을 다할 것”이라고 했다.

Mayor Choi Min-ho said, “We will further enhance our status as a city of Hangeul culture through close cooperation with the King Sejong Memorial Society,” and “I am especially moved to be co-hosting this Sejong the Great’s Birthday event with the King Sejong Memorial Society.”

Choi Hong-sik, the chairman of the Sejong the Great Memorial Society, said, “I have been to Sejong City many times, and every time I come, I am deeply moved by the spirit of King Sejong and the city’s development as a city of Hangeul culture.” He added, “We will do our best to successfully host the Sejong the Great’s Birthday event co-hosted with the city.”
