최근 동학사 벚꽃길을 방문한 시민 A씨는 충격적인 광경을 목격했다. 계룡치킨 맞은편에 위치한 임시 포장마차 두 곳에서 주황색 농수로 호스가 외부로 길게 뻗어 나와 있었기 때문이다.

A씨의 제보와 촬영 영상에 따르면, 이 호스는 포장마차 내부 주방 싱크대와 직접 연결되어 있었다. 호스 끝단에서는 조리 과정에서 발생한 오수가 여과 없이 쏟아져 나와 계룡산 계곡 쪽으로 그대로 흘러들고 있었다. 

A씨는 지난해 축제에서도 같은 경험을 했다고 밝히고, 올해 역시 개선 없이 영업이 강행되고 있어 강력한 지도단속을 통해 내년 축제에서는 같은 광경을 보지 않도록 해야 한다며 관할 관청인 공주시와 주최측의 각성을 촉구했다.

꽃사진을 찍는 관광객들에게 “가게 앞이니 비키라”며 퉁명스럽게 대하는 상인들의 고압적인 태도와 축제의 낭만을 깨트리는 찢어질 듯한 음악 소리, 북소리 역시 방문객들의 눈살을 찌푸리게 하는 요인이다. 

위생 상태가 의심스러운 조리 환경은 식중독 우려까지 낳고 있어, 즐거운 마음으로 축제장을 찾은 시민들에게 지울 수 없는 불쾌감을 안겨주고 있다.

해당 부지는 종교단체의 토지로 알려져 있다.
