세종시가 지역 농산물 소비 촉진을 위해 학생 무상급식 단가를  3,920원에서 4,080원으로 인상하기로 했다.

시는 23일 올해 무상급식비는 지난해 474억 3,070만 원에서 3억 3,853만 원 증액한 477억 6,923만 원으로 편성됐다고 밝혔다.

이에 따라 초·중·고(특수학교 포함) 108개교 6만 1,623명에게 지급되는 학생 1인당 평균 무상급식 단가는 3,920원에서 4,080원으로 전년 대비 4.08% 늘었다.

또, 세종산 현물 추가 지원 사업에는 44억 4,918만 원을 투입해 세종산 쌀과 한우, 딸기·포도·배 등 제철 과일, 지역 제조 가공품 등 28개 품목을 현물 지원한다.

유치원 우수농산물 식품비 지원 사업은 사업비 6억 6,620만 원을 들여 1인당 지원 단가를 전년도 610원에서 올해 630원으로 늘었다.

시는 올해에도 식재료 안전성 검사를 추진, 40개 업체의 70개 품목을 대상으로 총 725건을 정밀 검사하기로 했다.

특히 잔류농약과 방사능, 중금속 등 품목별 특성에 맞춰 농산물은 주 2회, 수산물은 주 1회, 가공품과 축산물은 분기별로 점검할 방침이다.

김회산 도농상생국장은 “학교급식은 학생들의 건강한 성장뿐 아니라 지역 농업과도 직결된다”며 “급식 질과 안전성을 높이고 지역 농산물 사용을 확대해 학생과 농업인이 함께 체감할 수 있는 선순환 구조를 만들겠다”고 말했다.
