세종특별자치시가 무주택 청년 1인 가구의 월세 부담을 덜기 위해 다음 달 ‘2026년 청년 주거임대료 지원사업’을 시작한다고 22일 밝혔다. 

오는 3월 3일부터 5일까지 3일간 세종 일자리 종합 플랫폼 ‘잡아람’ 누리집에서 상반기 신청을 받는 이번 사업은 세종시에 거주하는 청년이 실제 납부한 월세를 기준으로 월 최대 20만 원까지, 생애 1회에 한해 최대 10개월 동안 지원하는 시 자체 사업이다. 

지원 대상은 세종시에 주소를 둔 19∼39세 무주택 청년 1인 가구로, 임차보증금 1억 원 이하, 월세 60만 원 이하, 전용면적 85㎡ 이하 주택에 거주해야 한다.

소득 기준은 기준중위소득 150% 이하로, 1인 가구 기준 월 384만 원 이하여야 하며 재산은 1억 2,200만 원 이하여야 한다. 세종시는 신청자의 자격 요건과 타 사업 중복 지원 여부를 확인한 뒤, 선착순이 아닌 소득·재산·임대료를 반영한 자체 평가 기준을 적용해 지원 대상을 선정할 계획이다.

세종시는 지난해까지 연 1회만 모집하던 방식을 올해부터 상·하반기 연 2회 모집으로 확대해 청년들의 실제 주거 이동 시기와 수요를 보다 유연하게 반영하도록 신청 시기를 조정했다. 

이에 따라 상반기 신청을 놓치더라도 하반기 추가 모집을 통해 다시 지원 기회를 얻을 수 있을 전망이다.

Sejong Special Self-Governing City announced on the 22nd that it will launch the "2026 Youth Rent Support Project" next month to ease the monthly rent burden for young, single-person households without homes.

Applications for the first half of the year will be accepted from March 3rd to 5th on the Sejong Job Platform's website, Jobaram. This city-sponsored program provides a one-time, lifetime grant of up to KRW 200,000 per month, based on actual rent paid, for up to 10 months for young adults living in Sejong City.

Sejong City has expanded the application period, which used to be limited to one round per year until last year, to two rounds per year, in the first and second halves of the year. This will allow for greater flexibility in reflecting the actual housing needs and timing of young people's housing relocations.

Accordingly, applicants who miss the first half of the year will have another opportunity to apply through the second half of the year.
