충남 논산시가 70세 이상 고령 농민과 여성농업인, 귀농·귀촌 초보 농업인 등 농촌 취약계층을 위한 ‘영세 고령농 농작업 대행 서비스’를 운영해 농번기 일손 부족 문제에 적극 대응하고 있다.

이 서비스는 2,000㎡ 이하의 경작지를 가진 70세 이상 고령농, 홀로 농사짓는 여성농, 귀농·귀촌 3년 미만인 초보 농업인, 그리고 논산시 내 도시농업 참여자를 대상으로 한다. 

전문 인력 2명과 차량 지원 인력 1명이 투입되어 돌 수집부터 경운, 파종, 수확에 이르기까지 농작업 전반에 걸쳐 지원을 제공한다.

농업인은 신청서, 농지원부, 주민등록등본 또는 신분증 등을 가지고 논산시농업기술센터 농업기계임대사업소를 방문하면 신청할 수 있다. 

논산시 관계자는 “이번 농작업 대행 서비스가 고령농 및 취약 농가의 부담을 크게 덜고 안정적인 영농 활동에 보탬이 될 것”이라며 “앞으로도 농업 현장의 생생한 목소리를 반영해 농업 경쟁력 강화에 힘쓰겠다”고 밝혔다.
