이장우 대전시장이 대전·충남 행정통합 추진에 대해 고도의 자치·재정권 보장과 시민 공론화를 전제조건으로 삼아야 한다고 재차 강조했다.

이 시장은 23일 주간업무회의에서 “행정통합 원칙 자체는 찬성하지만, 수도권 일극 체제에 맞설 지방분권 구조, 재정·조직·인사·사업권 법적 보장, 시민 공감대 형성 등 전제조건이 충족돼야 한다”고 밝혔다.

그는 여당 발의 통합특별법을 “껍데기 통합”으로 규정하며, “한시적 특례에 그치는 졸속 추진은 통합 취지를 훼손하고 지역 갈등을 부추길 수 있다”고 비판했다. 

이 시장은 이러한 요구를 “단순 반대가 아닌 본질적 조건 제시”로 규정하고, 시민 다수의 주민투표 요구를 실시해 직접 민의를 확인해야 한다고 주장했다.

현안 점검에서는 봄철 산불 예방을 최우선 과제로 설정했다. 이 시장은 “4~5월이 산불 고위험기”라며 “한 건의 산불도 용납하지 말고, 순찰 강화·농가 홍보·장비 점검을 철저히 하라”고 지시했다.

이에 따라 구청·소방본부와 협력해 특별 순찰을 확대하고, 3·1절 연휴 기간 기동순찰반을 가동하며 충청권 광역 공조 체계도 준비한다.

또 경기 침체 속 소상공인 지원으로 연 매출 1억4백만원 미만 사업자 대상 30만원 지원사업 예산이 조기 소진될 경우 추가경정예산 편성을 검토한다.
