정상신 대전시교육감 예비후보가 23일 ‘미래교육을 위한 대전시민교육감 단일화 시민회의’ 후보 등록 과정에 불참 입장을 밝혔다.

정상신 예비후보는 이날 발표한 입장문에서 “진보교육 실현을 위해 연구와 홍보에 매진해왔으나, 시민회의가 제시한 서약서 내용과 현재 행정통합 상황을 고려해 후보 등록을 포기한다”고 밝혔다.

그는 서약서 제3항(“시민회의가 제시하는 내부 경선 일정·방식에 따르기”)에 대해 “후보가 내용을 모른 채 일방적 기준에 따르라는 내용으로, 공정성에 의문이 있다”며 서명 불가를 이유로 들었다.

그는 “통합특별시 출범 시 교육감 선출도 통합 차원에서 이뤄져야 하며, 대전·충남 진보 후보들과 함께 시기·절차·방식을 새롭게 논의해야 한다”고 제안했다.
