충남 당진시가 도시공원 사용료를 전면 폐지하며 시민들의 공원 이용 문턱을 확 낮췄다. 2월 27일 공포된 ‘당진시 도시공원 및 녹지 등 관리에 관한 조례’ 개정으로 즉시 시행에 들어갔다.

지난해 공원 사용료 징수는 23건에 123만 원에 불과했다. 

당진시는 미미한 수입 대비 납부 절차의 번거로움과 행정 낭비를 이유로 과감히 폐지했다. 이제 시장 승인만 받으면 비용 없이 공원을 자유롭게 쓸 수 있다.
