대전시가 시민의 안전의식과 재난 대응 역량을 강화하기 위한 ‘대전국민안전체험관’ 조성 사업에 속도를 내고 있다.

대전시는 26일 시청 회의실에서 건립자문위원과 설계업체 관계자 등 26명이 참석한 가운데 전시·체험시설 설계 및 제작‧설치 사업 착수보고회를 열고 본격적인 사업 추진에 들어갔다.

이번 사업은 지난 2월 13일 계약이 체결된 이후 구체적인 추진 방향과 공정 계획을 공유하는 자리로 마련됐다. 설계와 제작, 설치 단계별 과정을 체계적으로 점검해 시민이 체감할 수 있는 안전 교육 공간을 완성한다는 방침이다.

‘대전국민안전체험관’은 과학도시로서의 지역 특성을 반영해 실험실 안전 체험, 생활안전, 자연재난, 어린이안전 등 총 7개의 체험존으로 구성된다. 각 존에는 35개의 전시·체험시설이 조성될 예정으로, 다양한 재난 상황을 실감형 콘텐츠로 학습할 수 있는 것이 특징이다.

특히 대전시는 지역 여건과 이용자 수요를 종합적으로 분석해 체험시설의 완성도를 높이고, 실질적인 안전교육 효과를 극대화할 계획이다. 

대전시 관계자는 “2029년 완공을 목표로 안전한 시민체험 환경을 조성하겠다”며 “체험 중심의 안전문화 확산 거점으로 발전시킬 것”이라고 말했다.
