국가유산청 궁능유적본부와 국가유산청 산하 국가유산진흥원이 ‘2026년 봄 궁중문화축전’의 현장 운영을 함께할 공식 자원활동가 ‘궁(宮)이둥이’를 공개 모집한다.

궁중문화축전은 서울의 5대 궁궐(경복궁·창덕궁·덕수궁·창경궁·경희궁)과 종묘를 무대로 매년 봄과 가을에 열리는 국내 최대 규모의 국가유산 축제다. 

12회를 맞는 올해 축전은 지난해 봄·가을 행사에서 137만 명이 찾으며 최다 관람객 기록을 세운 바 있다. 궁궐과 종묘라는 상징적 공간을 기반으로 전통 의례, 공연, 전시 등 다층적 프로그램을 선보이며 국가유산 향유의 외연을 확장해 왔다.

‘궁이둥이’는 축전 기간 동안 관람객 응대와 프로그램 안내, 현장 운영 보조, 홍보 지원 등을 맡는 공식 활동 인력이다. 

특히 외국인 방문객과의 소통을 통해 우리 궁궐과 궁중문화의 의미를 전달하는 ‘국가유산 전달자’로 기능한다는 점에서 단순한 자원봉사를 넘어선 문화 매개 역할을 수행한다. 이는 최근 문화유산 정책이 보존 중심에서 활용과 확산으로 무게중심을 옮기는 흐름과도 맞닿아 있다.

올해 봄 축전은 ‘궁과 묘, 예술이 되다’를 주제로 4월 24일 개막해 5월 3일까지 이어진다. 각 궁궐과 종묘의 역사적·예술적 특색을 반영한 기획 프로그램이 운영되며, 궁이둥이는 개막식을 시작으로 행사 전반에 배치된다.
