충남 서산시가 충청남도 주관 '2025년도 지방세정 종합평가'에서 우수상을 수상하며 지방세정 분야의 우수성을 다시 한번 입증했다. 시는 이번 수상으로 15년 연속 우수기관 선정이라는 놀라운 성과를 달성했다.

서산시는 그동안 이 평가에서 최우수상 2회, 우수상 10회(금년 포함), 장려상 3회를 수상하며 꾸준히 좋은 평가를 받아왔다. 이번 우수상 수상과 함께 포상금 3천만 원도 획득했다.

충청남도 15개 시군을 대상으로 실시된 이번 평가는 지난해 지방세 부과·징수 기여도, 체납징수, 세무조사 및 세원 발굴, 세외수입 징수, 특수 시책 등 다양한 지표를 종합적으로 평가했다. 

서산시는 특히 고액 체납자 징수율 향상, 적극적인 제도개선, 부실 과세 방지 노력 등에서 높은 점수를 받았다.

이러한 다각적인 세정 추진 노력 덕분에 경기 불황 등 어려운 세수 여건 속에서도 서산시는 지난해 2천906억 원의 지방세를 성공적으로 징수했다.

이완섭 서산시장은 이번 수상에 대해 "시민 여러분의 성실한 납세와 우리 시의 적극적인 세정 추진이 함께 이룬 값진 결과"라며, "앞으로도 시민들에게 더욱 신뢰받는 세정을 실현하기 위해 최선을 다하겠다"고 소감을 밝혔다.
