더불어민주당 서구청장 후보 선출을 위한 당내 결선 투표를 단 하루 앞두고, 경선 과정의 공정성을 둘러싼 파열음이 터져 나오며 선거판이 요동치고 있다. 

신혜영 서구청장 예비후보가 선거 개입 의혹을 강도 높게 비판한 데 이어, 앞서 컷오프된 서희철 전 예비후보까지 쓴소리를 내며 가세해 당내 갈등이 격화되는 양상이다.

신 예비후보는 자신의 SNS를 통해 “당원 한 분 한 분께 직접 전화를 드리는 과정에서 선거의 공정성을 훼손할 수 있는 중대한 사안이 보고됐다”며 깊은 유감을 표명했다. 

그는 “공정해야 할 선거를 훼손하는 어떠한 행위도 결코 용납될 수 없다”고 선을 그으며, “그 어떤 이유로도 이 문제를 좌시하지 않겠다”고 강력히 경고했다.
