대덕구는 행정안전부가 주관한 ‘2026년 읍면동 스마트 복지·안전 서비스 개선모델 개발 지원사업’에 대화동이 4년 연속 선정되는 성과를 거뒀다고 19일 밝혔다.

이번 지원사업은 일선 읍면동 단위의 재난 및 안전 관리 기능을 선제적으로 강화하기 위해 전국 64개 지자체를 대상으로 추진됐다. 

특히 대덕구 대화동은 대전광역시 내에서 유일하게 4년 연속으로 사업 대상지에 이름을 올리며, 지역 맞춤형 위기 대응 역량의 우수성을 대외적으로 입증했다.

대화동은 그동안 ‘함께 돌보고 치유하는 회복 공동체 대화동’이라는 프로젝트 기조 아래 다각적인 지원을 펼쳐왔다. 

지난 2023년 대전 최초로 민관이 협력하는 안전협의체를 구성했으며, 자살 고위험군을 대상으로 1대1 안부 전화를 정기적으로 실시하고 전문 치유 상담 프로그램을 운영하는 등 주민들의 정서적 안정과 생명 보호에 주력하고 있다.

첨단 기술을 접목한 스마트 안전망 구축도 돋보인다. 전력 사용량의 변화를 분석해 고립 가구의 이상 징후를 조기에 감지하는 ‘스마트 돌봄 플러그’를 선도적으로 도입해 위기 상황에 대처하고 있다. 

더불어 생활 안전에 취약한 위기 가구를 적극 발굴하여 노후 전선 교체, 자동소화 멀티탭 및 가스 타이머 콕 보급 등 실생활과 밀접한 안전 사각지대 해소에 총력을 기울이고 있다.

대화동은 이번 사업 선정으로 확보한 국비를 포함해 총 4000만 원의 예산을 투입할 예정이다. 

이를 바탕으로 안전협의체의 활동 성과를 지역 사회와 공유하고, 기존의 복지 사업들과 연계해 한층 더 촘촘하고 세밀한 복지·안전 대책을 수립할 계획이다.

장선영 대화동장은 예기치 못한 재난과 사고에 대비해 견고한 인적 안전망을 구축하는 것은 행정의 가장 중요한 과제라는 점을 강조했다. 

이어 앞으로도 현장 중심의 안전 관리를 더욱 강화해, 주민 누구나 안심하고 생활할 수 있는 행복한 대화마을을 만드는 데 최선을 다하겠다고 말했다.
