대전시민천문대가 3월 3일 오후 2시부터 밤 11시까지 ‘정월대보름·개기월식 특별 관측회’를 연다. 시민 누구나 무료로 참여할 수 있으며, 전통 세시풍속 체험과 천문 현상 관측을 아우르는 복합 프로그램으로 운영된다.

이번 행사는 음력 정월대보름과 개기월식이 같은 날 겹치는 드문 사례에 맞춰 기획됐다. 달은 오후 6시 18분 떠오르고, 오후 6시 49분부터 10시 17분까지 월식 전 과정을 관측할 수 있다. 지구의 그림자가 달을 완전히 가리는 개기월식은 천문학적으로도 관측 가치가 높은 현상으로, 대기 상태와 시야 조건에 따라 붉은빛을 띠는 ‘블러드문’ 양상이 나타날 가능성도 있다.
