충남도교육청(교육감 김지철)이 고용노동부 천안지청(지청장 최종수), 보령지청(지청장 이점석)과 손잡고 직업계고등학교 학생들의 취업 역량 강화를 위한 협력체계를 본격 가동한다. 

4일 도교육청 회의실에서 체결된 3자 간 업무협약(MOU)은 충남 지역 직업계고 학생들이 급변하는 노동시장 환경 속에서 안정적인 진로를 설계할 수 있도록 지원하기 위한 제도적 기반으로 주목받고 있다.

이번 협약은 특히 졸업 이후까지 취업지원을 연계할 수 있는 구조를 마련함으로써, 단순한 졸업 전 진로지도 수준을 넘어선 ‘사후관리형 취업지원’ 체계를 도입했다는 점에서 의미가 크다. 이를 통해 충남교육청은 지역 내 고졸 인재의 성장 경로를 보다 촘촘히 설계하고, 고용노동부는 실제 취업과 연결되는 행정적·실무적 지원을 강화한다.

협약서에는 '직업계고 졸업예정자·졸업생 대상 맞춤형 취업연계 및 직무역량 강화 지원', '고용정보와 자원 공유를 통한 졸업생 취업 지원', '지역 고용 활성화를 위한 공동 노력' 등이 핵심으로 담겼다. 

최종수 고용노동부 천안지청장은 “고용센터와 직업계고가 협업을 통해 직업계고 재학생(졸업생)이 졸업 후에도 고용 서비스를 통해 취업할 수 있도록 충남교육청과 협력하여 적극 지원해 나가겠다”라고 밝혔다.

김지철 충남교육감은 “이번 업무협약은 고용노동부와 교육청이 손을 맞잡고 학생들에게 실질적인 취업기회를 제공하는 데 큰 의미가 있다”며, “앞으로도 관계기관과의 긴밀한 협력을 통해 충남 직업계고 학생들이 우수한 기업에 취업할 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”라고 말했다.

충남교육청은 이번 협약을 기반으로 각 학교별 진로·진학지도 및 고용센터 연계 프로그램을 단계적으로 정례화해나갈 계획이다. 고용과 교육이 함께 만든 이번 모델이 지역 중심의 ‘선취업-후진학’ 구조를 현실화하는 데 마중물이 될 수 있을지 귀추가 주목된다.
