서철모 대전 서구청장이 한국전력공사(한전)가 추진 중인 송전선로 건설사업과 관련해 '주민 수용성 확보'를 최우선 조건으로 내걸며 강력한 반대 입장을 표명했다.

특히 서 청장은 구체적인 문제점으로 '입지선정위원회 운영 기간 단축'과 '광범위한 사업 대상지 지정'을 꼽았다. 

위원회 운영 기간이 줄어들면서 주민 의견이 충분히 반영될 기회가 박탈될 우려가 크고, 최적·최단 노선과 무관한 지역까지 사업 대상지에 포함되면서 행정적 혼란을 야기하고 있다는 분석이다.

서 청장은 송전선로 건설로 인해 발생할 수 있는 구민들의 안전 위협과 재산권 침해 문제를 결코 좌시하지 않겠다는 의지를 분명히 했다. 그는 "사업 추진 과정에서 우리 구민의 권익이 침해되지 않도록 다각적인 대응 방안을 강구하겠다"라고 밝혔다.
