대전 대덕구가 민관 협력을 통해 지역 어린이들의 구강 건강 안전망을 한층 강화한다. 대덕구는 9일 대덕구 치과의사회와 업무협약(MOU)을 체결하고, 전문가 그룹의 역량을 결합한 선제적인 보건 서비스 제공에 나서기로 했다.

이번 협약은 공공기관의 행정력과 민간 치과계의 전문성을 결합해 지역사회 전체의 구강 건강 수준을 높이는 데 목적이 있다. 양 기관은 단순한 질환 치료를 넘어 구강질환 예방 사업 운영, 전문 인력 지원, 구강건강 인식 개선을 위한 홍보 활동 등 다각적인 분야에서 긴밀한 협력 관계를 유지한다.

가장 반가운 소식은 코로나19 여파로 중단되었던 '초등학생 대상 불소도포 사업'의 부활이다. 치아우식증(충치)에 취약한 학령기 아동들에게 가장 효과적인 예방책으로 꼽히는 불소도포를 위해, 대덕구 치과의사회 소속 전문의들이 직접 학교를 방문한다.
