성광진 대전교육감 예비후보(이하 성 예비후보)가 5일 학교에서 악성 민원을 직접 받지 않도록 하고, 교사가 수업과 생활지도에 전념할 수 있는 교권 보호 종합 정책을 발표했다. 

대전 지역에서 교권 침해 사건이 잇따르면서 교사와 학생 모두가 안심할 수 있는 환경 조성에 대한 요구가 높아진 가운데, 성 예비후보의 이번 방안은 공교육 정상화를 위한 구체적 대책으로 주목받고 있다.

성 예비후보는 교권 침해가 과거 폭언이나 폭행을 넘어 생활지도 불응, 모욕·명예훼손, 정당한 교육활동 거부 등 다양한 형태로 확산되고 있다고 지적했다. 이로 인해 교사들이 정상적인 생활지도조차 위축되면서 교실 내 질서 붕괴와 학생들의 학습권 침해까지 이어지고 있다고 우려했다.
