대전에 본사를 두고 있는 우주의약 전문기업 스페이스린텍(Space LiinTech, 대표 윤학순)이 고려대학교 의료원산학협력단(단장 김학준)과 손잡고 미세중력 환경 기반 의학 연구를 본격화한다.

병원 중심 연구를 넘어 산학협력 체계로 확장, 연구 성과를 산업화하는 데 초점을 맞춘 두 기관은 24일 우주환경을 활용한 의학 연구 협력을 위한 MOU를 체결했다고 밝혔다. 

스페이스린텍은 국제우주정거장(ISS) 모듈 실증과 위성 기반 우주바이오 임무 경험을 바탕으로 실험 플랫폼과 AI 모니터링을 제공한다.

고려대 의료원산학협력단은 AI·디지털 헬스케어 전문성을 동원해 연구 주제를 발굴하고 학술·산업 확산을 지원한다.

양측은 우주환경 데이터로 면역항암제 등 난치병 치료 혁신을 목표로 오픈이노베이션 플랫폼을 구축, 국내 우주의학 생태계를 키운다는 계획이다.

스페이스린텍은 최근 보건복지부 '의료 난제 극복 우주의학 프로젝트' 주관사로 선정되며 국내외 협력을 확대 중이다.

윤학순 대표는 “우주 데이터와 실증 경험이 핵심인 우주의학에서 의료 역량 결합이 지속 연구의 전환점이 될 것”이라고 말했다.

김학준 단장은 “미래 의료기술 영역을 넓히는 우주환경 연구를 체계화해 혁신으로 연결하겠다”고 밝혔다.

이 협약은 스페이스린텍의 연세대 의대 MOU에 이은 두 번째 산학 파트너십으로, 우주의학 분야 국내 생태계 성장을 가속화할 전망이다.

Space LiinTech and Korea University Medical Center Launch Joint Research on 'Space Medicine' Utilizing Space Microgravity

Space LiinTech (CEO: Hak-soon Yoon), a space medicine company headquartered in Daejeon, is partnering with the Korea University Medical Center Industry-Academic Collaboration Foundation (Director: Hak-joon Kim) to launch medical research based on microgravity environments.

The two organizations, which aim to expand beyond hospital-centered research into an industry-academic collaboration and commercialize research findings, announced on the 24th that they signed an MOU for collaboration on medical research utilizing space environments.

Space LiinTech will provide an experimental platform and AI monitoring, drawing on its experience with International Space Station (ISS) module demonstrations and satellite-based space bio missions.

The Korea University Medical Center Industry-Academic Collaboration Foundation will leverage its expertise in AI and digital healthcare to identify research topics and support academic and industrial expansion.

Both organizations plan to build an open innovation platform with the goal of innovating treatments for intractable diseases, such as immunotherapy, using space environment data. They will also foster the domestic space medicine ecosystem.

SpaceLintech was recently selected as the lead for the Ministry of Health and Welfare's "Space Medicine Project to Overcome Medical Challenges," and is expanding its domestic and international collaborations.

CEO Yoon Hak-soon stated, "In space medicine, where space data and empirical experience are key, the integration of medical capabilities will be a turning point for ongoing research."

Director Kim Hak-joon stated, "We will systematize space environment research to expand the scope of future medical technology and lead to innovation."

This agreement marks SpaceLintech's second industry-academia partnership, following its MOU with Yonsei University College of Medicine, and is expected to accelerate the growth of the domestic space medicine ecosystem.
