국가유산청 국립무형유산원(원장 박판용)은 오는 6월 28일 그리스 아테네 메가론 콘서트홀에서 한국 무형문화유산을 세계에 알리는 공연 <K-무형유산페스티벌, 시그널 KOREA>를 개최한다고 20일 밝혔다. 

이번 공연은 오후 6시와 9시 두 차례 진행된다.

국립무형유산원이 주관하고 그리스 문화부 및 주그리스한국대사관이 후원하는 이번 행사는 농악, 탈춤, 줄타기, 태평무 등 한국의 전통 연희와 함께 시나위, 산조 같은 전통음악 요소에 현대적 전자음악을 접목해 한국 무형유산의 아름다움과 본질을 새로운 감각으로 재해석했다. 티켓은 예매 시작 10분 만에 매진돼 국제적인 관심을 입증했다.

공연에는 연희컴퍼니 유희, 코리안댄스컴퍼니 결, 줄타기 명인 남창동 씨 등 약 20여 명의 예술가들이 참여하며, 연출은 2024년 국립무형유산원 송년공연 <시그널>을 맡은 임영호 씨가 맡았다.

‘한국의 호흡과 리듬, 그리고 연결’이라는 주제를 바탕으로 구성된 이번 공연은 프롤로그 ‘혼돈:숨’에서 시작해 ‘땅:원형’, ‘불:해체’, ‘바람:이음’, ‘물:흐름’, ‘마음:상생’, 에필로그 ‘회귀:윤회’까지 총 7장으로 펼쳐진다. 이는 자연과 인간의 순환적 관계를 상징적으로 표현한 무대다.

또한 공연에 앞서 6월 21일과 22일에는 미노아 문명의 중심지인 그리스 크레타섬에서 ‘크레타 스트릿 아트 페스티벌’ 초청으로 사물놀이와 태평무 등 한국 전통음악과 무용을 선보이며 무형유산의 정통성을 알리는 무대를 선사한다.

국립무형유산원은 이번 무대가 민주주의와 철학의 발상지인 그리스에서 한국 무형유산의 가치를 널리 알리는 계기가 될 것으로 기대하며, 앞으로도 다양한 국제 무대에서 우리 전통문화의 문화다양성 가치를 확산하고 글로벌 한류 콘텐츠로서의 위상을 강화할 계획이라고 밝혔다.

The National Intangible Heritage Center (Director Park Pan-yong) of the National Heritage Administration will hold the <K-Intangible Heritage Festival, Signal KOREA> performance to introduce Korean intangible cultural heritage to the world at the Megaron Concert Hall in Athens, Greece on June 28.

Tickets sold out within 10 minutes of the start of sales, proving the international interest.

About 20 artists, including Yeonhee Company Yuhee, Korean Dance Company Gyeol, and tightrope walking master Nam Chang-dong, will participate in the performance, and the director will be Lim Young-ho, who will be in charge of the 2024 National Intangible Heritage Center's year-end performance <Signal>.

Based on the theme of 'Korean Breathing, Rhythm, and Connection', this performance will be divided into a total of 7 chapters, starting with the prologue 'Chaos: Breath', followed by 'Earth: Circle', 'Fire: Disintegration', 'Wind: Connection', 'Water: Flow', 'Mind: Mutual Growth', and the epilogue 'Return: Reincarnation'.
