조원휘 대전시의회 의장이 직업계고 학생들의 진로와 취업을 응원하며 현장 중심의 인재 양성을 위한 정책적 지원을 약속했다.

조 의장은 5월 13일 대전컨벤션센터(DCC)에서 열린 **‘2025 Dream & Job 일자리 NEW 365 매칭데이’**에 참석해, 직업계고 학생들의 열정적인 도전과 기업들의 채용 활동을 격려하며 행사에 힘을 실었다.

이번 행사는 지역 내 12개 직업계고 학생과 교사, 기업 및 공공기관 관계자, 유관기관 단체장 등 3000여 명이 참석한 가운데 성대하게 열렸다. 

개막식에서는 축사와 함께 상징적인 퍼포먼스가 펼쳐졌으며, 이어 채용설명회, 인기 유튜버 특강, 졸업생과의 토크콘서트 등 다양한 프로그램이 진행되어 학생들에게 실질적인 정보를 제공하고 진로에 대한 동기부여를 높였다.

조 의장은 축사를 통해 “전국 평균 직업계고 졸업자 취업률이 55.3%인 데 반해, 대전은 61.1%로 상회하고 있다”며 “이는 학교, 학생, 기업이 함께 노력한 결과이며, 매우 의미 있는 성과”라고 강조했다.

이어 그는 “대전시의회는 그간 직업계고 취업 지원과 기능경기대회 활성화를 위한 정책토론회를 여는 등 현장 중심 교육을 제도적으로 뒷받침해 왔다”며, “앞으로도 우수한 직업계고 인재들이 지역 기업에 안정적으로 정착할 수 있도록 세심하고 촘촘한 정책을 마련하는 데 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
