오는 4월 3일 오후 7시 30분, 대전예술의전당 아트홀에서 유럽 챔버 오케스트라가 3년 만에 한국을 찾아온다. 

이번 공연에서는 세계적인 피아니스트 김선욱이 지휘와 협연을 맡아, 깊이 있는 음악적 해석과 조화를 선보일 예정이다.

김선욱은 2006년 리즈 콩쿠르에서 아시아인 최초이자 최연소 우승자로 주목받으며 국제 무대에 발을 내디뎠다. 

현재 경기필하모닉오케스트라의 음악감독으로 활동 중인 그는 이번 공연에서도 그의 뛰어난 지휘 능력과 피아노 연주로 관객들을 매료시킬 계획이다.

유럽 챔버 오케스트라는 1981년 유럽 연합 유스 오케스트라 출신의 단원들에 의해 창단된 세계적인 실내악단으로, 약 60명의 정예 멤버로 구성되어 있다. 

이들은 클라우디오 아바도, 니콜라우스 아르농쿠르와 같은 거장들의 지도를 받으며 성장해왔으며, 현재는 야니크 네제 세갱, 사이먼 래틀 등 저명한 지휘자들과 협업을 이어가고 있다. 

이들은 250장 이상의 음반을 발매하며 두 번의 그래미상과 세 번의 그라모폰 음반상을 수상한 바 있다.

이번 공연에서는 김선욱과 함께 베토벤의 협주곡을 연주할 예정으로, 대전예술의전당 김덕규 관장은 “김선욱과 유럽 챔버 오케스트라가 함께하는 베토벤 협주곡은 클래식 음악 팬들에게 특별한 경험이 될 것”이라며 기대감을 표했다.
