세종특별자치시가 국제교류 역량 강화를 위해 영국, 불가리아, 공공외교, 문화 분야의 해외협력관 4명을 추가로 위촉했다. 

세종시는 26일 시청 세종실에서 최민호 시장과 신규 위촉된 해외협력관들이 참석한 가운데 위촉식을 진행했다고 밝혔다.

이번에 위촉된 해외협력관은 박은하 전 주영국 대사(영국), 김소영 전 소피아대 한국학과 교수(불가리아), 조대식 전 주캐나다 대사(공공외교), 그리고 콘래드 브루베이커 고려대 세종캠퍼스 글로벌학부 교수(문화)로, 이로써 시의 해외협력관 수는 기존 11명에서 15명으로 늘어났다.

시는 이들 해외협력관의 풍부한 경험과 전문성을 활용해 세종시의 국제교류 방향을 설정하고, 각국과의 협력 사업을 발굴할 예정이다. 또한, 문화, 경제, 산업 등 다양한 분야에서 국제적인 협력을 확대하고 실질적인 국제협력 성과를 도출할 것으로 기대하고 있다.

최민호 시장은 “우리시는 외국인들이 한국말을 배울 수 있도록 한글문화글로벌센터를 조성하고 이를 발전시켜 한글문화단지까지 만들 계획을 구상하고 있다”며, “앞으로 한글문화도시 세종을 세계에 널리 알리기 위해 협력관님들의 다양한 조언과 협력이 필요하다”고 강조했다.
