충남 홍성군은 관내 국가유산 35개소를 대상으로 소화기를 비롯한 소방시설의 작동 기능을 점검하며 화재 예방에 나섰다고 밝혔다. 

이번 점검은 봄철 건조한 날씨로 인해 산불 및 화재 위험이 높아짐에 따라 문화재 보호 대책의 일환으로 시행된 것으로 특히, 소화기의 내구연한과 지시 압력계 정상 여부, 소방시설의 작동 상태 등을 철저히 확인했다. 

군은 내구연한이 초과된 소화기 10개를 교체하고, 군 향토문화유산인 충효열 시설에 8개의 신규 소화기를 설치했으며, 결성농요전수회관의 노후 소방시설을 수리해 화재 예방 대응 능력을 한층 강화했다.

김태기 문화관광과장은 “국가유산은 역사적 가치가 높아 화재 발생 시 복구가 어려운 만큼, 철저한 예방과 신속한 대응이 필수적이다”라며 “앞으로도 정기적인 점검과 소방시설 유지·보수를 통해 국가유산 보호에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 홍성군은 국가지정 중요 목조문화유산인 고산사, 홍주읍성, 홍주의사총, 사운고택, 노은리고택을 비롯한 도 지정 문화유산과 역사시설에 대해 소방안전관리 용역을 추진하고 있다. 또한 홍성소방서와 협력해 합동 소방훈련을 실시하며, 국가유산 보호를 위한 체계적인 안전 점검을 지속적으로 강화해 나갈 방침이다.
