세종시가 24일 시청에서 세종 스마트 국가산업단지 제1차 보상협의회를 개최하고, 원활한 보상 절차 운영을 위한 논의에 착수했다고 밝혔다.

세종 스마트 국가산단 조성사업은 한국토지주택공사(LH)와 세종도시교통공사가 시행자로 참여하여 연서면 일대에 275만 3000㎡(약 83만 평) 규모로 추진되며, 2029년 완공을 목표로 하고 있다.

보상협의회는 토지보상법에 따라 보상액 평가와 이주대책 수립 등 토지소유자들의 의견을 수렴하기 위해 시에서 주관하여 설치된 협의체로, 위원장인 이승원 경제부시장을 포함해 토지소유자 대표, 시 관계자, 한국토지주택공사 및 세종도시교통공사 관계자 등 총 12명으로 구성되었다.

회의에서는 보상협의회 운영 방안과 향후 보상 절차 및 일정에 대한 심도 있는 논의가 진행되었다. 시는 앞으로 협의회를 통해 보상액 평가와 이주대책 수립에 대한 토지소유자들의 의견을 청취하고, 사업 시행자와 함께 보상 시기 및 생계 지원 대책 등을 논의할 계획이다.

이승원 경제부시장은 “세종 스마트 국가산단은 우리 시 최초의 국가산단으로, 행정중심도시 세종시가 자족 경제도시로 도약하는 중요한 발판이 될 것”이라며, “한국토지주택공사와 세종도시교통공사 관계자들이 협의회에서 논의되는 사항들을 면밀히 검토하여 적절한 보상 절차가 진행될 수 있도록 협조해 주시기 바란다”고 강조했다.
