충남 부여군이 2024년도 지역안전지수 평가에서 큰 폭의 개선을 이루며 충남도 내 2위를 기록, 우수기관으로 선정됐다.

지역안전지수는 교통사고, 화재, 범죄, 생활안전, 자살, 감염병 등 6개 분야를 종합적으로 평가해 각 지자체의 안전 수준을 1~5등급으로 구분하는 지표다. 숫자가 낮을수록 상대적으로 안전함을 의미한다.

부여군은 올해 평가에서 교통사고, 화재, 범죄, 생활안전, 자살 등 5개 분야에서 3등급 이상을 기록하며 안정적인 성과를 보였다. 특히, 화재 분야에서는 전년 대비 2등급이 상승해 두드러진 개선을 이뤄냈다.

이번 성과를 바탕으로 부여군은 인센티브로 받은 소방안전교부세 1억2천만 원을 군민들의 안전을 위한 사업에 적극 활용할 계획이다. 군은 지속적인 안전 인프라 확충과 예방 대책 강화를 통해 지역안전지수를 더욱 높여 나가겠다는 방침이다.

박정현 부여군수는 “군민들의 협력과 적극적인 참여가 있었기에 가능한 성과”라며 “앞으로도 안전을 최우선으로 두고, 더욱 살기 좋은 지역을 만들기 위해 최선을 다하겠다”라고 밝혔다.
