[Jang Jong-tae, former head of Seo-gu, launched the Daejeon Power Think Tank]

The Daejeon Power Generation Think Tank was launched by Jang Jong-tae, former head of Daejeon Seo-gu, who challenged the Daejeon mayor (along with the Democratic Party, and the standing chairperson of the Daejeon Economic and Economic Revolutionary Committee).

Daejeon Vision 2030 Policy Network launched a policy advisory group of 83 professors and experts to develop a strategy for development in Daejeon at the Daejeon Opera Wedding at 10 o'clock on the 27th, and appointed Cho Man-hyeong, the dean of Hannam University's graduate school, as the head.

In addition, along with the Tomorrow Forum, a commemorative seminar was held under the theme of ‘post-corona era, Daejeon culture and arts tourism policy and development plan’.

The seminar was conducted by Lee Chang-gi, a visiting professor of public administration at Daejeon University, ▲ ‘Tasks and countermeasures for cultural tourism in Daejeon’ by Jang In-sik, professor of Woosong Information University, ▲ Jeon Do-geun, director of the Korea Travel Healing Association research center, ‘Daejeon Project, a Happy City to Live in’ Presentations about it followed.

At this seminar, the argument that a major change in Daejeon culture and arts tourism policy is necessary was raised using the failure of the ‘Visit Daejeon Year’ as a mirror.

Professor Jang In-sik of Woosong Information University said, “Daejeon’s tourism status is the 13th in terms of domestic tourist visits by city and province, and the lowest intention to recommend tours on the same day. It is necessary to come up with a new cultural tourism policy, such as youth busking in trains.”

Former Seo-gu mayor Jang Jong-tae also said, “Efforts are needed to deliver healing through culture and art to citizens who are depressed due to COVID-19. Just as Jugo provided a stage for local cultural and artistic activities, the administration should act as a bridge between citizens and cultural artists for a happy Daejeon.”

Park Hong-joon, president of Daejeon Arts Council, also said, “The top priority in the Daejeon culture and arts policy direction is to secure a stage for cultural artists whose activities have been restricted due to COVID-19 for the past two years. In order to grow, it is necessary to plan good content, develop programs linked to related facilities, and promote linkage with public transportation.”
