대전예술의전당은 충남대학교, 한밭대학교, 목원대학교 등 지역대학과의 협업으로 창작오페라 [레테 The Lethe]를 제작해 선보인다.

이번 작품에서는 AI시대 로봇에 대한 인류의 윤리 문제를 이슈화하고 전쟁, 재난, 평화, 사랑 등의 주제를 담은 가족오페라이다.

이번 작품은 대전예술의전당과 지역대학 공동으로 대전의 지역적 정체성인 과학의 도시에 걸맞는 주제 선정으로 로봇이 주인공인 오페라 작품을 통해 지역의 특성을 살리며 대전 브랜드로 창작되었다는 의미가 있으며, 지역 예술가와 대학 재학생들도 합창, 무용, 연극 등에 참여하여 청년예술가로 성장하는 경험의 장이 될 것으로 기대된다.
