‘2020년 특구별 종합평가(2차년도 연차평가)’에서 지난해에 이어 대덕특구가 ‘우수’등급을 받았다고 대전시가 26일 밝혔다.

연구개발특구의 성장 및 육성내실화를 목적으로 실시한 이번 평가는 대덕·광주·대구·부산·전북 등 연구개발특구 5곳을 대상으로 이뤄졌으며 대덕특구와 함께 전북이 ‘우수’, 대구가 ‘보통’, 광주와 부산이 ‘미흡’등급을 받았다.

해당 지자체들은 평가 지표였던 지자체 특구발전 기여도 및 지자체와 특구재단간 협업관련 우수사례 자료를 준비하기 위해 1월말부터 평가에 만전을 기했던 것으로 알려졌다.

서면평가 방식으로 이루어진 이번 평가에서 대덕특구가 우수등급을 받을 수 있었던 요인으로는 지자체의 재정지원, 특구펀드 출자금액, 특구기업 투자 측면에서 타 지자체에 비해 우수한 평가를 받은 것을 들 수 있다.

또한 과학산업과 전체가 특구 전담조직으로써 지난해부터 구축한과학산업특별보좌관, 과학부시장제 등의 라인업과 잘 어우러져 체계적으로 운용되었으며 대전과학산업진흥원의 설립 노력을 통한 지역혁신생태계 기반 구축에 차별성을 둔 점이 ‘우수’ 등급 주요요인으로 꼽힌다.

금번 평가 결과로 대덕특구는 내년에 특구내 기업 지원 사업비 등으로 약 6억원~7억원 정도를‘보통’ 등급의 특구보다 더 배분받게 되었다.
