시공명리학 27번째 칼럼에서는 ‘접속’이라는 영화로 1990년대 한국 멜로의 결을 바꿔 놓은 배우이자, 아날로그적 감성을 잘 표현하는 전도연님에 대해 이야기해보고자 합니다. 다양한 장르에 출연하였으며 최근에는 OTT 시리즈인 '자백의 대가'에서 탄탄한 연기 내공을 선보이기도 했습니다. ‘그냥 연기를 잘한다’가 아닌 해당 캐릭터가 전도연이라는 사실 조차 잊게 만드는 대체 불가한 독보적인 배우입니다. 

그녀의 사주구조는 영화계에 어울릴 만큼의 화려함은 없지만 18세부터 들어온 병진(丙辰), 정사(丁巳), 무오(戊午) 대운과 년과 일에서 무계(戊癸) 合으로 오색 무지개를 만들어내기에 데뷔 초반에는 멜로 중심의 장르에 집중했습니다. 하지만 중후반으로 갈수록 다양한 장르를 넘나들며, 도덕적 회색지대를 벗어난 자칫 비호감이 될 수 있는 역할로 자주 나왔습니다. ‘불륜녀, 술집 마담, 하녀, 다방 레지, 킬러’ 등 대중으로부터 불편한 시선을 받을 수도 있는 역할을 소화하였는데 왜 그런 배역들에 빠져들었을까요?

천간 계갑무(天干 癸甲戊)조합은 戊癸 合으로 수기(水氣)가 마른 무토(戊土)를 갑목(甲木)이 뚫어 버리기에 대부분 육체가 상하는 물상으로 드러나지만 다행하게도 년지에 있는 축축한 축토(年支 丑土)에 뿌리를 내릴 수 있기에 거친 속성이 많이 줄어듭니다. 지지(地支)는 축인(丑寅)으로 음습하고, 비밀스럽고, 바르지 않은 행위를 할 수도 있으나 천간에서 무계합(天干 戊癸合)으로 화려한 무지개를 만들어 축인의 어둠 또한 완화시킵니다.  

또한 축년(丑年)을 기준으로 갑인(甲寅)은 겁살(劫煞)이고 계수(癸水)는 육해(六害)이기에 주로 화류계 물상으로 발현되지만 배우라는 직업에 활용하기에 독특한 캐릭터들을 과감하게 소화해냅니다. ‘단호한 실행력’과 ‘위축되지 않는 강단’으로 배역이라는 통로를 통해 스크린에 쏟아내기에 긍정적인 형태로 대체되었습니다. 또 새로운 영혼을 받아들이는데 익숙하여 빙의되듯 배역에 빠져들고 몰입하기에 역할이 끝났을 때는 자아를 상실하고 정신적으로 방황하는 경우가 많습니다.  

나이 들수록 감정의 층위를 높여가며 나이를 무기로 쓸 만큼 단단한 입지를 보여주는 이유는 년지 축토(年支 丑土)에 안정적인 터전을 두고 무계합(戊癸合)으로 갑목(甲木)을 끊임없이 성장시키기에 무토(戊土) 무대 위에서 ‘소모되지 않는 존재감’을 드러냅니다.   

다가오는 2026년 병오년(丙午年)에는 그녀가 또 어떤 작품들로 대중들을 설레게 할지 벌써부터 기다려집니다.
