대전 유성구가 매달 가정으로 배송되는 지방세 고지서를 활용해 주민들의 정신건강을 돌보는 이색적인 자살 예방 홍보에 나선다.

유성구는 현대인들이 스마트폰을 일상적으로 사용하는 환경에 착안해, 단순한 세금 납부 안내서에 불과했던 지방세 고지서에 ‘생명존중 QR코드’를 탑재하는 스마트 홍보 사업을 추진한다고 밝혔다.

이번에 도입되는 QR코드는 오는 11일부터 발송되는 6월 정기분 자동차세를 시작으로 향후 발행되는 정기분 지방세 고지서 뒷면에 전면 인쇄된다. 주민들이 스마트폰 카메라로 해당 QR코드를 스캔하면 유성구정신건강복지센터 누리집으로 곧바로 연결돼, 다양한 정신건강 정보와 자살 예방 상담 안내를 손쉽게 확인할 수 있다.

이와 함께 구는 고지서에 24시간 언제든 도움을 요청할 수 있는 자살예방 상담 핫라인 ‘109’와 유성구정신건강복지센터(☎042-825-3527)의 연락처를 함께 명시했다. 

이를 통해 심리적 위기 상황에 놓인 주민들이 주저하지 않고 신속하게 전문적인 도움을 받을 수 있도록 접근성을 대폭 끌어올렸다.

정용래 유성구청장은 “이번에 도입한 고지서 QR코드가 일상 속에서 정신건강 문제로 남모르게 고통받는 주민들에게 따뜻한 구원의 손길을 내미는 소통 창구가 되기를 기대한다”라며 “앞으로도 지역 사회 전반에 생명을 존중하는 문화를 확산시키고, 자살을 예방할 수 있는 촘촘한 안전망과 다양한 복지 정책을 지속적으로 발굴해 나가겠다”고 전했다.
