충남도가 지방재정의 건전성을 강화하고 공정한 납세 문화를 정착시키기 위해 시군 및 경찰청과 손잡고 고액·상습 체납 차량에 대한 강력한 단속에 나섰다.

충남도는 9일 시군 공무원 및 충남경찰청과 합동 단속반을 구성하고, 도내 전역에서 조세 정의 실현을 위한 ‘체납 차량 집중 단속’을 전격 실시했다고 밝혔다. 

이번 단속은 세금을 내지 않고 도로를 달리는 상습 체납자들에게 강력한 경고 메시지를 보내고, 성실 납세자가 우대받는 사회 분위기를 조성하기 위해 마련됐다.

집중 단속 대상은 자동차세를 2회 이상 내지 않았거나, 차량 관련 과태료가 30만 원 이상 밀린 상습·고질 체납 차량이다.

합동 단속반은 단속 효과를 극대화하기 위해 차량이 밀집하는 아파트 단지와 대형 복합 상가 주차장 등 주거·상업 지역을 구석구석 순회했다. 아울러 서산시 경계 지역을 포함해 차량 왕래가 빈번한 도내 주요 도로의 진출입 길목을 선점하고 대대적인 영치 활동을 펼쳤다.

현장에서 적발된 고질 체납 차량에 대해서는 예외 없이 즉각적인 번호판 영치 조치를 취했으며, 영치 예고 안내문을 부착해 자진 납부를 유도하는 등 강력한 압박을 가했다.

충남도는 이번 일제 단속에 머무르지 않고, 앞으로도 경찰 등 유관 기관과의 긴밀한 협조 체계를 유지하며 체납 차량을 상시 단속할 수 있는 촘촘한 그물망 시스템을 다져나갈 방침이다.
