대전 교육의 미래 청사진을 그리고 학교 현장의 실질적인 변화를 이끌어내기 위한 정책 연구가 고도화 단계에 접어들었다. 

대전교육정책연구소는 지난 5일부터 9일까지 대전교육과학연구원 정책연구협의회실에서 ‘2026년 정책연구 중간보고회’를 개최하고 현재 추진 중인 연구 과제들을 집중 점검했다고 밝혔다.

이번 보고회는 연구소에서 수행하고 있는 자체 연구와 현장 연구 과제들의 진행 상황을 면밀히 검토해 연구의 객관적 신뢰도를 높이고, 교육 현장에서의 실질적인 활용 가치를 극대화하기 위해 마련했다.

현재 연구소가 전개하고 있는 과제는 총 8건이다. 자체 연구 분야에서는 아동·청소년기의 핵심 화두인 '마음건강관리 지원 사업 발전 방안'을 비롯해 '학교도서관 운영 실태 진단', '시교육청 AI 관련 교육정책의 현황과 과제' 등이 테이블에 올랐다. 

아울러 반복적 횡단자료를 활용해 대전 지역 학생과 교직원의 3개년 추이를 정밀 분석하는 종단적 연구 플랜도 포함됐다.

일선 학교의 당면 과제를 다룬 현장 연구도 깊이를 더했다. 교육 사각지대 해소를 위한 '경계선지능 학생 기초학력 향상 방안'과 학생들의 정서적 역량을 키우는 '사회정서학습(SEL)의 현장 적용 방안', 미래 세대의 필수 소양인 '디지털·미디어 리터러시 함양 교육 방안' 등 3개 과제가 수행 중이다.

이날 대학교수와 교육 전문가들로 구성된 심의위원들은 연구의 방법론적 적절성과 현장 적용 가능성을 종합적으로 도출했다. 

연구소는 이번 심의 결과와 더불어 지난달 26일부터 이달 4일까지 현장 자문단 30여 명을 통해 수렴한 생생한 목소리를 연구 내용에 적극적으로 보완해 최종 보고서의 완성도를 높일 계획이다.

김선희 대전교육정책연구소장은 단계별 점검 체계를 통해 연구 과제를 투명하고 체계적으로 관리하고 있다며, 이론에만 그치지 않고 교육 현장의 요구를 가감 없이 반영해 정책 활용도가 높은 실천 중심의 살아있는 연구를 완성하겠다고 강조했다.

The Daejeon Institute for Educational Policy announced that it held the "2026 Policy Research Interim Report Meeting" from the 5th to the 9th at the Policy Research Council Room of the Daejeon Institute of Educational Sciences, conducting an intensive review of research projects currently underway.

This meeting was organized to enhance the objective credibility of the research and maximize its practical value in the educational field by closely examining the progress of both in-house and field research projects being conducted by the institute.

The institute is currently undertaking a total of eight projects. In the field of in-house research, topics discussed included "Development Plans for Mental Health Management Support Programs," a key issue for children and adolescents, as well as "Diagnosis of School Library Operations" and "Current Status and Challenges of the City Office of Education's AI-Related Educational Policies." In addition, the plan includes a longitudinal study to precisely analyze three-year trends among students and faculty in the Daejeon region using repeated cross-sectional data.

Field research addressing immediate challenges in schools has also gained depth. Three projects are currently underway: "Measures to Improve Basic Academic Skills for Students with Borderline Intellectual Disability" to eliminate educational blind spots; "Field Application Methods for Social-Emotional Learning (SEL)" to cultivate students' emotional capabilities; and "Educational Measures to Cultivate Digital and Media Literacy," an essential skill for future generations.

On this day, the deliberation committee, composed of university professors and education experts, comprehensively assessed the methodological appropriateness and field applicability of the research.

Along with the results of this deliberation, the institute plans to enhance the completeness of the final report by actively incorporating the vivid voices gathered from approximately 30 field advisors from the 26th of last month to the 4th of this month into the research content. Kim Seon-hee, Director of the Daejeon Education Policy Research Institute, stated that research projects are being managed transparently and systematically through a phased inspection system. She emphasized that the institute will complete practical, "living" research with high policy applicability by not limiting itself to theory but by unreservedly reflecting the demands of the educational field.
