6.3 지방선거에서 압승을 거둔 더불어민주당 대전시당과 허태정 대전시장 당선자 측 선거대책위원회가 5일 합동 해단식을 갖고 공식 선거 활동을 마무리했다.

이날 오전 허 당선자의 선거사무소에서 열린 해단식에서 허 당선자는 선거 승리를 위해 뛴 캠프 관계자들에게 깊은 감사의 뜻을 전하는 한편, 민주당이 마주한 엄중한 책무를 역설했다.

허 당선자는 “이번 선거를 통해 시장직과 5개 자치구청장, 그리고 대다수의 시·구의원 자리를 시민들께서 맡겨주셨다”며 “이는 민생을 바로 세우고 대전 경제를 도약시키라는 준엄한 명령이자, 우리에게 거대한 권한과 책임이 동시에 부여된 것”이라고 진단했다. 

이어 “이제는 선거 과정에서의 경쟁을 뒤로하고 대전의 밝은 미래를 위해 다시 하나로 뭉쳐야 할 때이며, 그 선두에 제가 서겠다”고 강조했다.

박정현 더불어민주당 대전시당위원장 역시 “시민들의 기대가 그 어느 때보다 큰 만큼, 허태정 당선자의 시정이 성공 가도를 달려 대전이 충청권의 중심축으로 우뚝 설 수 있도록 힘을 모아야 한다”고 당부했다.

한편, 허태정 당선자는 해단식에 참석하기 전 대전 지역 당선자들과 함께 국립대전현충원을 방문해 호국영령을 참배하는 것으로 첫 공식 행보를 시작했다. 허 당선자는 현충원 방명록에 “민생을 되살리고 시민 주권 시대를 열어 대전의 새로운 미래를 만들겠다”는 다짐을 남겼다.

이어 한화에어로스페이스 폭발 사고 희생자 합동분향소를 찾은 허 당선자는 고인들의 명복을 빌고 유가족을 위로했다. 이 자리에서 그는 안전한 노동 환경 조성을 위해 대전 지역 내 모든 사업장을 대상으로 안전점검 전수조사를 실시하겠다고 밝혔다. 

아울러 주요 사업장의 안전관리 매뉴얼을 전면 재점검하고 종합적인 재발 방지 대책을 조속히 수립하겠다고 약속했다.
