더불어민주당 김영빈 공주시·부여군·청양군 후보가 대형 노동 단체들과 연이어 손을 잡으며 선거 막판 노동 표심 공략에 박차를 가했다.

김영빈 후보는 1일, 한국노총 산하의 주요 조직인 전국금융산업노동조합(이하 금융노조) 및 전국공공노동조합총연맹(이하 공공연맹)과 잇따라 정책협약을 체결하고 공식 지지 선언을 이끌어냈다.

이날 이뤄진 협약식에는 금융노조 윤석구 위원장과 공공연맹 정정희 위원장을 포함한 노동계 핵심 지도부와 관계자들이 대거 자리를 함께하며 김 후보에게 힘을 실었다. 

지지 세력으로 합류한 금융노조는 시중·지방은행과 금융공기업을 아우르는 한국노총 내 최대 규모의 산별노조이며, 공공연맹은 한국토지주택공사(LH), 한국농어촌공사 등 주요 공공기관 노동조합들이 결집한 대형 산별노조다.

김 후보는 우선 금융노조와 ‘금융의 공공성 확대 및 노동 가치 존중 사회 실현’을 기치로 걸고 정책적 연대를 맺었다. 이어 공공연맹과는 ‘노동 중심의 지속 가능하고 정의로운 사회 구축’을 목표로 한 정책 협약서에 서명했다.

윤석구 금융노조 위원장은 지지 배경에 대해 “김영빈 후보는 현재 당면한 지역소멸 문제를 해결하고, 공주·부여·청양 지역의 새로운 변화와 도약을 견인할 역량이 검증된 인물”이라고 평가했다.

정정희 공공연맹 위원장 또한 “공공 부문 노동자들의 권익 향상과 지역 사회의 동반 성장을 이뤄낼 적임자로 김 후보를 신뢰한다”며 “국회에 진출해 노동자들을 대변하는 든든한 버팀목이 되어주길 바란다”고 당부했다.

이에 대해 김영빈 후보는 “일하는 모든 이들이 안전한 환경에서 근무하고 안정적인 삶을 누릴 수 있도록 노동권익 보호와 양질의 일자리 조성을 최우선 과제로 삼아 의정 활동에 앞장서겠다”고 약속했다.
