공공기관의 사회적 책임(ESG)이 기존의 단순 물품 기부나 취약계층 지원을 넘어, 농번기 인력난으로 시름하는 지역 농가의 심장부를 직접 파고들며 실용적 상생 모델로 진화하고 있다. 

대전테크노파크는 지난 19일 대전시 사회공헌 협약기관 임직원 50여 명과 연대해 일손 부족으로 어려움을 겪고 있는 대전 인근의 포도 농가를 찾아 ‘함께하심’ 농촌 일손 돕기 봉사활동을 전개했다고 20일 밝혔다.

이날 펼쳐진 대규모 봉사활동은 최근 이례적인 기온 상승 여파로 포도의 생육 주기가 예상보다 크게 앞당겨짐에 따라, 제때 일손을 구하지 못해 발을 동동 구르던 지역 농가를 적기에 밀착 지원하기 위해 긴밀히 기획됐다. 

이른 아침부터 현장에 투입된 임직원들은 초여름을 방불케 하는 무더운 날씨 속에서도 농민들과 호흡을 맞추며 포도 순 지르기, 알맞은 시기의 봉지 씌우기 작업을 비롯해 농장 주변 가로 환경 정비 등 손길이 시급한 작업들을 묵묵히 소화해 내며 현장의 시름을 덜어주었다.

특히 이번 행보는 대전TP가 그동안 정례적으로 추진해 오던 취약계층 자원봉사나 단순 도심 환경 정화 활동의 외연을 넓혀, 농촌 지역의 실질적인 활력 제고와 인구 감소에 따른 구조적 인력난을 해소하기 위해 '농촌 맞춤형 ESG 프로그램'으로 처음 도입했다는 점에서 안팎의 깊은 울림을 주고 있다.

지원을 받은 포도 농가 관계자는 날씨가 급격히 더워지면서 작업 시기를 놓칠까 봐 밤잠을 설쳤는데, 대전TP와 협약기관 임직원들이 마스크를 쓰고 자기 일처럼 땀 흘려 도와준 덕분에 큰 시름을 놓았다며, 거듭 고마움을 전했다.
