부산서 열린 전국장애학생체전서 메달 139개 수확…역대 최다 기록 경신

육상 11연패·디스크골프 6연패 굳건…역도 고은영 등 다관왕 14명 쏟아져

충청남도 특수교육의 지속 가능한 힘이 전국 무대에서 다시 한번 빛을 발했다. 

충남교육청은 지난 12일부터 15일까지 나흘간 부산광역시 일원에서 펼쳐진 ‘제20회 전국장애학생체육대회’에서 금메달 49개, 은메달 54개, 동메달 36개 등 총 139개의 메달을 쓸어 담으며 종합 3위에 올랐다. 

이로써 충남은 경기, 충북과 어깨를 나란히 하며 ‘5년 연속 종합 3위’라는 대기록을 역대 최다 메달이라는 화려한 성적으로 장식했다.

이번 대회에 충남은 전체 17개 종목 중 12개 종목에 총 508명(선수 148명, 임원 및 지도자 360명)의 선수단을 파견했다. 

충남 특수체육의 강점은 전통적 효자 종목의 압도적 지배력과 전 종목의 고른 기량 향상에서 비롯됐다. 

기초 종목인 육상은 전국 최초로 ‘종합 1위 11연패’라는 전무후무한 이정표를 세웠고, 디스크골프 역시 6년 연속 정상의 자리를 사수했다. 

개인전의 활약도 눈부셨다. 역도 종목에서 압도적 기량으로 3관왕에 오른 고은영 학생을 필두로 무려 14명의 다관왕이 배출됐다. 

보치아, 수영, 배드민턴, e스포츠, 볼링 등 출전한 12개 전 종목에서 고르게 결실을 보며 탄탄한 저변을 증명했다.

김지철 교육감은 어려운 여건 속에서도 선수와 지도교사, 보호자가 하나로 뭉쳐 땀 흘린 끝에 거둔 값진 결실이라며, 정정당당하게 최선을 다한 선수단에 아낌없는 박수를 보낸다고 격려했다. 

이어 학생들이 꿈을 펼칠 수 있도록 든든한 버팀목이 돼 준 충남장애인체육회와 삼성SDI 관계자들에게도 깊이 감사드린다고 전했다. 

충남교육청은 이들의 헌신을 기리기 위해 오는 6월 25일 종합시상식을 개최하고, 입상 선수와 유공 지도자, 학교 등에 표창과 포상금을 수여할 방침이다.

At the ‘20th National Sports Festival for Students with Disabilities,’ held over four days from the 12th to the 15th in Busan, the Chungnam Office of Education swept up a total of 139 medals—49 gold, 54 silver, and 36 bronze—to claim 3rd place overall.

With this achievement, Chungnam stands shoulder to shoulder with Gyeonggi and Chungbuk, decorating the remarkable record of ‘3rd place overall for 5 consecutive years’ with a spectacular performance that includes the highest number of medals in history. Superintendent Kim Ji-cheol encouraged the team, stating that this was a valuable achievement earned through the sweat and unity of athletes, supervising teachers, and guardians despite difficult circumstances, and extended his heartfelt applause to the squad for giving their all fairly and honestly.

He also expressed deep gratitude to officials from the Chungnam Paralympic Committee and Samsung SDI for serving as a reliable pillar of support, enabling the students to realize their dreams.
