더불어민주당 정준영 계룡시장 후보가 선거사무소 개소식을 열고 본격적인 세 몰이에 나섰다. 

개소식에서 정 후보는 ‘시민 승리’를 핵심 키워드로 내걸고, 민주당 원팀의 저력을 통해 계룡의 고질적인 현안을 해결하겠다는 강한 의지를 피력했다.

9일 계룡시 장안로 소재 ‘정준영 시민승리캠프’에서 열린 개소식에는 민주당원과 지지자, 지역 주민들이 대거 참석해 성황을 이뤘다. 참석자들은 “계룡의 실질적인 변화”에 기대를 하며 정 후보의 출정에 힘을 보탰다.

더불어민주당 후보 확정후 그동안의 후보로서 활동에 대한 소회로 인사말을 시작 한 정 후보는 “민주당의 선택을 받은 후보라는 점이 매우 자랑스럽다”며 “어려운 시기마다 잡아주신 시민들의 따뜻한 손길을 동력 삼아 부끄럽지 않은 시장 후보로서 끝까지 뛰겠다”고 다짐했다.

정 후보는 이날 계룡시민들의 실질적인 고통을 야기하는 대중교통 문제를 시정 개혁의 1순위로 꼽았다. 

그는 출근길 혼잡이 극심한 ‘48번 버스’ 사례를 들며 “시민들이 콩나물시루 같은 버스에 몸을 싣는 상황을 방치한 것은 전형적인 불통 행정의 결과”라고 직격했다. 

이어 “할 수 있는데 하지 않았던 과거의 행정 시스템을 과감히 혁파해 시민 편의 중심의 교통 체계를 재구축하겠다”고 약속했다.

청년 실업과 지역 소멸 위기에 대한 진단도 내놨다.

정 후보는 “청년들이 머물 수 있는 산업적 기반이 전무한 것이 계룡의 현실”이라며 “일자리와 문화, 여가 생활이 선순환 구조를 이루는 정주 여건을 조성해 젊은 세대가 뿌리 내리는 활기찬 도시를 만들겠다”고 강조했다.

미래 전략으로는 ‘방산산업 중심지 도약’을 제시했다. 단순한 군사 도시의 이미지를 넘어 국방 관련 공공기관 이전과 유망 방산기업 유치를 통해 명실상부한 국방수도의 내실을 기하겠다는 구상이다.

특히 정 후보는 지역 현안 해결을 위해 ‘중앙과 지방의 유기적 협업’을 강조했다. 

그는 황명선 국회의원, 박수현 충남도지사 후보 등과 발을 맞추는 ‘민주당 원팀론’을 내세우며, 강력한 추진력과 예산 확보를 통해 계룡의 숙원 사업들을 조속히 해결하겠다고 공언했다.

이 외에도 정 후보는 의료 인프라 확충 ,제대군인 복지 강화 ,노인 돌봄 체계 고도화 ,농업 지원 정책 ,이케아 부지 활용 방안 등 지역 밀착형 과제들을 조목조목 언급하며 “계룡의 미래를 위한 새로운 기회를 반드시 창출하겠다”고 다짐했다.

본격적인 선거 체제로 전환한 정준영 시민승리캠프는 이날 개소식을 기점으로 시민들의 삶 속으로 파고드는 민생 행보와 정책 경쟁에 박차를 가할 계획이다.
