국민의힘 박찬우 천안시장 후보가 대규모 지지세와 중앙 정계의 전폭적인 지원을 등에 업고 본격적인 본선 행보에 돌입했다.

박 후보는 9일 오후 천안시 성정동에 위치한 선거사무소에서 ‘승리캠프’ 개소식을 성황리에 개최했다. 

이날 현장에는 김문수 전 대선후보, 나경원·유용원·성일종 국회의원 등 국민의힘 핵심 인사들을 비롯해 김태흠 충남도지사 후보, 심대평 전 충남지사, 성무용·박상돈 전 천안시장 등 당 내외 중량급 인사와 시민 등이 대거 운집해 필승의 의지를 다졌다.

주요 내빈들은 축사를 통해 박 후보가 지닌 독보적인 행정 전문성과 중앙 부처 및 국회에서의 폭넓은 네트워크를 높이 평가하며, 천안의 새로운 도약을 이끌어갈 적임자임을 한목소리로 강조했다.

특히 박찬우 후보는 “단순히 시장 자리에 오르는 것이 목표가 아니라, 시민의 삶을 실질적으로 변화시키는 시장이 되는 것이 본질”이라며 “승리캠프를 시민 누구나 찾아와 대안을 제시하고 의견을 나누는 소통의 거점으로 만들겠다”고 덧붙였다.

본격적인 출정의 닻을 올린 박찬우 후보 측은 이번 개소식에서 확인된 결집력을 동력 삼아 지역별 맞춤형 공약을 발표하며 유권자 표심 공략에 박차를 가할 계획이다.
