더불어민주당 오인환 논산시장 후보가 선거사무소 개소식을 열고 본격적인 세 몰이에 나섰다. 개소식에는 당 지도부와 지지자들이 대거 집결하며 필승의 의지를 다졌다.

9일 오후 논산시 시민로 봉정빌딩에서 열린 개소식에는 시민과 당원 등 500여 명이 참석해 건물 안팎을 가득 메웠다. 

특히 황명선 최고위원, 조승래 사무총장, 박수현 충남도지사 후보, 이정문 충남도당위원장, 복기왕 국회의원 등 당내 핵심 인사들이 총출동해 논산시장 탈환을 위한 당 차원의 전폭적인 지원 화력을 과시했다.

한병도 원내대표 역시 영상 축사를 통해 “논산의 균형 발전과 실질적인 지방자치를 이끌 적임자”라며 오 후보에게 힘을 보탰다.

이날 오인환 후보는 인사말을 통해 시정 운영의 핵심 키워드로 ‘통합’과 ‘품격’을 내세웠다.

오인환 후보는 “정치는 결국 시민이 하는 것이라는 믿음으로 오직 시민의 삶을 최우선에 두는 행정을 펼치겠다”며 “갈등을 조장하는 정치가 아닌, 전임 시장들이 일궈온 훌륭한 정책과 ‘동고동락’ 정신을 유연하게 계승해 논산의 자부심을 세우겠다”고 역설했다.

특히 지역 경제와 관련해 “시장의 결정 하나가 시민의 생계와 직결된다는 엄중한 책임감을 느끼고 있다”며 “지난 8년간의 의정 활동으로 검증된 실력을 바탕으로, 시민과 격의 없이 소통하며 논산의 변화를 완성하겠다”고 다짐했다.

개소식은 내빈 축사에 이어 선거대책본부 주요 인사에 대한 임명장 수여식으로 마무리되며 본격적인 선거 체제 전환을 알렸다. 

한편, 오 후보 측은 이번 개소식의 열기를 현장 유세로 이어가며 유권자와의 접점을 더욱 확대해 나갈 방침이다.
