서철모 대전 서구청장 후보가 6일 오후 선거사무소 개소식을 열고 본격적인 세 결집과 함께 지방선거 필승을 향한 힘찬 닻을 올렸다.

이날 행사에는 이장우 대전시장 후보와 이은권 국민의힘 대전시당위원장을 비롯해 박희조, 김선광, 최충규 등 국민의힘 소속 구청장 후보들과 다수의 시·구의원 출마자들이 총출동해 ‘원팀’으로서의 단단한 결속력을 과시했다.

이장우 대전시장 후보는 축사를 통해 “서철모 후보는 방위사업청 유치와 노루벌 국가정원 조성 등 서구의 굵직한 현안을 주도해 온 인물”이라며, “서 후보와 함께 대전을 대한민국 초일류 도시로 도약시키겠다”며 전폭적인 지지를 보냈다. 

정상철 총괄선거대책위원장 또한 “현재의 위기를 극복하기 위해서는 서 후보와 같이 검증된 능력을 갖춘 리더가 반드시 필요하다”고 목소리를 높였다.

개소식의 하이라이트인 ‘소통나무 전달식’에서는 청년들이 미래 세대를 대표해 구민들의 염원을 담은 소통나무를 전달하며 서구의 내일을 서 후보가 완성해 달라는 의미를 더했다.

서철모 후보는 출사표를 통해 “지난 시간 서구의 변화는 말이 아닌 성과로, 약속이 아닌 결과로 증명해 왔다”며, “지금 서구에 필요한 것은 불확실한 새로운 실험이 아니라, 이미 검증된 행정력과 흔들림 없는 추진력을 바탕으로 시작된 변화를 끝까지 완성하는 것”이라고 강조했다.
