대전광역시장 선거가 본격화된 가운데, 이장우 예비후보 측이 제안한 ‘10대 분야 정책토론회’를 둘러싸고 허태정 예비후보를 향한 압박 수위가 거세지고 있다. 

이 후보 측은 허 후보가 정책 검증을 회피하며 과거의 ‘무능 행정’을 답습하고 있다고 직격탄을 날렸다.

이장우 예비후보 캠프는 5일 논평을 통해 지난 4일 제안한 정책토론회에 대해 허태정 예비후보가 여전히 확답을 피하고 있다고 지적했다. 

특히 이 후보의 정책 발표 직후 허 후보 측이 내놓은 보도자료를 ‘5개 구청 공약의 짜깁기’로 규정하며 정책적 빈곤을 꼬집었다.

이 후보 측은 허 후보 캠프가 보도자료 제목으로 사용한 무능·불통·오만 이장우 시정 끝낸다는 표현을 강하게 비판했다. 

오히려 지난 허태정 시장 재임 4년이야말로 대전시민이 무책임과 무대책, 그리고 소위 ‘결정장애’라 불리는 행정 공백 속에서 고통받았던 시기라고 반박했다.

논평은 과거 학생운동 세력과 일부 시민단체가 시정을 농락했던 시절을 회상하며 ‘고통받았다’는 속내를 보인 것 아니냐며, 허 후보 측의 시각이 시민의 상식과는 동떨어져 있다고 비판했다.

이 후보 측은 대전시장 후보의 공약은 상투적인 문구가 아니라 ‘꿀잼도시’로 도약한 대전 시정을 한 단계 업그레이드할 실질적인 청사진이어야 한다며, 누가 위대한 대전을 만들 적임자인지 시민들 앞에서 당당히 검증받자고 촉구했다.

이어 허 후보가 SNS를 통해 ‘좋은 정책경쟁’을 희망한다고 밝힌 점을 언급하며 그 말에 진정성이 있다면 즉각 정책토론회 참여를 확약하라고 덧붙였다.
