더불어민주당 정준영 계룡시장 예비후보(이하 후보)가 5월 1일 노동절을 앞두고 노동의 가치가 존중받는 지역사회를 만들기 위한 ‘계룡시 행복일자리’ 공약을 전격 발표했다. 

6·3 지방선거를 향한 행보를 이어가고 있는 정 후보는 이번 공약을 통해 지역 경제 활성화와 촘촘한 사회안전망 구축을 동시에 달성하겠다는 포부를 밝혔다.

정 후보는 30일 발표한 공약에서 “노동은 지역 경제를 지탱하는 핵심 가치임에도 불구하고 그동안 정당한 평가를 받지 못했다”며 “시민들이 일자리를 통해 자아를 실현하고 안정적인 삶을 영위할 수 있도록 돕는 것이 행정의 최우선 과제”라고 강조했다.

이번 일자리 공약은 ‘양질의 일자리 공급’, ‘맞춤형 매칭’, ‘능력 중심 고용’이라는 세 가지 핵심 방향으로 설계됐다. 우선 정 후보는 공공기관과 국방 관련 우량 기업을 적극적으로 유치해 청년층이 선호하는 좋은 일자리를 대거 창출하겠다고 약속했다.

취업 지원 시스템의 현대화도 추진한다. 기존 일자리 종합센터를 인공지능(AI) 기반 시스템으로 전환하고 교육 체계를 개편해, 구직자가 자신의 역량에 가장 적합한 일자리를 신속하게 찾고 준비할 수 있도록 원스톱 지원 체계를 구축할 계획이다.

특히 사회적 약자를 위한 배려도 잊지 않았다. 어르신과 취약계층을 위해 공공근로 일자리를 최대한 확대하여 실질적인 생활 안정을 돕는 한편, 청년과 어르신들이 재기의 발판을 마련할 수 있도록 ‘계룡형 기본소득’을 도입해 역량 강화에 필요한 시간과 비용을 지원하겠다는 구상을 밝혔다.
