충남 청양군이 2025년 교통문화지수 조사에서 전국 80개 군 중 2위(A등급)를 차지하며 교통안전 최우선 도시로 자리매김했다. 

전년 대비 20계단 급상승한 88.32점은 체계적 안전 로드맵의 성과로, 운전·보행·정책 전 분야에서 돋보이는 실력을 입증했다.

한국교통안전공단의 이번 평가는 운전행태·보행행태·교통안전 18개 지표로 이뤄졌다. 청양군은 보행자 무단횡단 금지 준수율 73.58%(군 평균 71.63% 초과), 횡단보도 정지선·신호 준수율 대폭 개선, 음주운전 금지 98.11% 등에서 두각을 나타냈다.

특히 교통안전 정책 이행과 행정 노력 분야에서 타 지자체를 압도하며 전문성과 예산 집행력을 인정받았다. 

청안군은 이를 바탕으로 지속적 안전 인프라 확충과 주민 의식 제고를 통해 전국 1위를 목표로 한다는 복안이다.

Cheongyang County in South Chungcheong Province ranked second (A-Grade) among 80 counties nationwide in the 2025 Traffic Culture Index survey, solidifying its position as a city prioritizing traffic safety.

A sharp 20-place increase from the previous year, scoring 88.32 points, demonstrates the success of a systematic safety roadmap and demonstrates outstanding performance across all areas of driving, pedestrian behavior, and policy.

This evaluation, conducted by the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, was based on 18 indicators covering driving behavior, pedestrian behavior, and traffic safety. Cheongyang County distinguished itself with a 73.58% compliance rate for pedestrians prohibiting jaywalking (exceeding the county average of 71.63%), a significant improvement in compliance with stop lines and traffic signals at crosswalks, and a 98.11% ban on drunk driving.

In particular, the county surpassed other local governments in the areas of traffic safety policy implementation and administrative efforts, earning recognition for its expertise and budget execution capabilities.

Building on this foundation, Cheongan County aims to become number one in the nation through continuous expansion of safety infrastructure and increased public awareness.
