프로야구 암표 거래에 강력한 제재가 도입되어 불법 암표 근절에 획기적인 전환점이 마련됐다. 

장철민 의원이 대표 발의한 ‘암표방지법’이 포함된 '국민체육진흥법 일부개정법률안'이 1월 29일 국회 본회의를 통과하면서, 매크로 프로그램 사용 여부와 관계없이 모든 불법 입장권 거래를 전면 금지하는 법적 근거가 확립되었다.

기존에도 입장권 부정판매는 법으로 금지돼 있었으나, 신고자가 직접 부정판매 증거를 확보하고 좌석을 특정하는 등의 절차가 어려워 단속의 실효성이 낮았다. 

이번 개정안은 이러한 문제점을 해소하기 위해 판매금액의 최대 50배에 달하는 과징금 부과, 부당 이익 몰수 및 추징 근거를 명확히 하고, 부정판매 신고자에게 포상금을 지급하는 제도를 신설했다. 

또한 입장권 예매처와 온라인 플랫폼에 부정거래 방지 조치 시행 의무를 부과해 불법 거래가 유통되는 경로부터 원천 차단할 수 있도록 했다.

장철민 의원은 “암표 거래는 단순한 표 재판매가 아닌 시장 질서를 왜곡하고 스포츠의 가치를 훼손하는 범죄”라며, “이번 법안으로 부정 판매자에게 부당한 이익보다 훨씬 큰 벌칙이 뒤따르게 되어 암표 거래에 종지부를 찍을 것”이라고 밝혔다. 

더불어 “현장에서 법이 제대로 작동하도록 지속적으로 살피고, 팬들이 정상 가격으로 표를 구매할 수 있는 건강한 시장 환경을 조성하겠다”고 덧붙였다.

이로써 프로야구 등 국민 스포츠의 공정성과 팬 권익 보호가 한층 강화될 것으로 기대된다.
